Modelling and Optimization of Indigo Carmine Adsorption onto P(NIPAM-co-AN)/Clay Composite Using Response Surface Methodology

In the present work, a new polymeric adsorbent; Poly(NIPAM-co-AN)/clay composite was prepared via in-situ polymerization. The copolymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide, acrylonitrile and calculated clay (about 5% w/w) were carried out at 65°C in presence 10 mL 1,4-dioxane using AIBN as an initiator. Characterization P(NIPAM-co-AN)/clay determined by FT-IR techniques. NIPAM-AN/clay has been used novel adsorbent to remove indigo carmine dye from synthetic effluents.
